Held in Cachoeiro de Itapemirim, in the southern part of the state, the fair takes place from August 27 to 30 and showcases the latest market trends in stones, machinery, and supplies.
With 35 years of history and the credibility of being one of the main business showcases in Latin America, the Cachoeiro Stone Fair is already energizing the region’s market. Expectations are high for many innovations in stones, machinery, and supplies, with projections to attract 18,000 visitors to the Carlos Caiado Barbosa Exhibition Park in Cachoeiro de Itapemirim from August 27 to 30.
This year’s theme, “35 Years Ahead,” underscores the importance of the fair as one of the largest events in the sector in Brazil. Approximately 200 exhibiting brands will demonstrate the potential of the entire production chain, from extraction to processing to qualified buyers from over 600 Brazilian cities and 28 countries.
The outcome is expected to be significant: extensive networking and a boost to the region’s business tourism considered the “Marble Capital of the World.” In addition to highlighting Espírito Santo and the country’s stones and technologies, the fair offers an opportunity to stimulate the food and service sectors.
“Cachoeiro Stone Fair is one of the most important events in the sector in Latin America, and every year it brings innovations and introduces new trends in stones, machinery, processes, and even in its programming, with lectures from important market figures,” says Flávia Milaneze, CEO of Milanez Milaneze, the event’s organizing company.
Speaking of Brazil, according to data from the Espírito Santo Ornamental Stone Industry Union (Sindirochas), the greatest demand in the domestic market today is for finished products. The country is estimated to have over 1,200 varieties of natural stones and more than 10,000 companies in the sector.
According to the union’s research, the national market absorbs a large portion of Brazil’s ornamental stones, about 2/3 of the national production, generating revenue approximately twice as high as that recorded in exports.
When we consider Espírito Santo, 53% of the revenue of companies in the state already comes from the domestic market. A 2023 exclusive survey by Futura also showed that 75% of business owners are optimistic about sales prospects within the national territory.
“The Cachoeiro Stone Fair is undeniably an integral part of the success of Cachoeiro’s stone sector. Today, it is a globally recognized fair, and especially for our region, it serves as a showcase, where only the most beautiful, newest products are presented. Additionally, the event is a meeting point for potential buyers, architects, decorators, and natural stone producers. Thus, from its very first edition, the fair has greatly contributed to making Cachoeiro known and an important player on the world stage of ornamental stones,” emphasized Dietrich Kaschner, Secretary of Economic Development of Cachoeiro de Itapemirim.
Capixaba Trends and Technology
In line with this, quartzites, the current favorites, are making a strong appearance with modern and surprising proposals. The highlights include pink and blue shades, as well as the classic greens, beiges, and browns that are always in demand.
The Cachoeiro Stone Fair also promises to surprise visitors with new finishing trends, including honed, brushed, and satin finishes, as well as organic shapes and the expansion of stone applications from countertops, walls, and floors to decorative details such as ornaments, trays, coasters, accessories, handles, furniture, lamps, and even jewelry.
Some of the largest manufacturers of machinery and solutions for the ornamental stone sector are also from Espírito Santo and will present their innovations at the fair, promoting national technological development with cutting-edge innovations.
Among the launches is a brand new machine, the Inex Automática, which works with a milling cutter to make sink openings, faucet holes, grooves, and more. It also automatically finishes the inside of the hole and the Italian bevel.
“We will also have exclusive and unique programs for visitors, with insights into the latest trends, technological advances, and best practices in the natural stone industry,” notes Flávia Milaneze.
Marmorizou Day: A Gathering of Stone Professionals
It is worth noting that the Cachoeiro Stone Fair is already part of the annual calendar for stone professionals across Brazil, who always attend the event to check out the latest trends and seize opportunities for significant business deals.
Established as the meeting point for these professionals, this year the fair hosts Marmorizou Day, with lectures scheduled for August 28 and 29, from 3 PM to 8 PM, and registrations are already open. Those interested in participating in this opportunity to share experiences, techniques, and inspirations with industry leaders can register at day.marmorizou.com.
This integration, according to Sindirochas President Ed Martins, stimulates market evolution and promotes everything from knowledge exchange to technological development.
“Affectionately called ‘The Cachoeiro Fair,’ it consolidates and strengthens the work of years in the stone sector in Brazil. It’s the perfect moment to bring our main clients closer to the industries, connect experiences, and information, and generate great business opportunities. I can’t envision the sector at its current level without the Cachoeiro Stone Fair,” he emphasizes.
For the President of the Brazilian Center for Exporters of Ornamental Stones (Centrorochas), Tales Machado, the Cachoeiro Stone Fair grows each year with the participation of a highly qualified audience.
“The expectation for this edition is very positive. The increase in visitors, both from the domestic and international markets, is evident. More than 80% of what is exported to the world comes from Espírito Santo. The Cachoeiro Stone Fair is an attractive and important showcase for those who want to know the sector, learn about the latest trends, and do business. Everything happens here,” he highlights.
