The first day was marked by an opening ceremony with the presence of authorities and important figures in the industry
The 35th edition of the Cachoeiro Stone Fair began this Tuesday (27th) at the Carlos Caiado Barbosa Exhibition Park, where around 200 exhibiting brands are showcasing the latest innovations in stones, machinery, and supplies for the sector. The event, which has already established itself as a national and international reference, was opened with a ceremony that highlighted its development and success over the decades.
After the national anthem was performed by the Rochativa chamber orchestra (the social branch of Sindirochas), Flávia Milaneze, CEO of Milanez Milaneze, the company organizing the event, emphasized the strategic importance of the fair for the sector. “The Cachoeiro Stone Fair was designed to promote integration among all segments of the production chain, from extraction to processing and commercialization. And that’s exactly what has been happening for 35 years. Every year, we strive to incorporate innovations that meet market demands. This edition promises to be excellent for conducting business, making connections, and strengthening the sector,” she added.
Ed Martins, President of Sindirochas, recalled the sector’s trajectory and its continuous development. “We started with a lot of hard work and determination, and today we see innovation and technology integrated into the industry,” he said.
Tales Machado, President of the Brazilian Center of Ornamental Stone Exporters (Centrorochas), highlighted the global growth of the sector and the commitment to sustainability. “In July, we recorded an 8% increase in exports. Furthermore, we are becoming increasingly sustainable,” he noted.
Importance of Natural Stones for the State
The ceremony was attended by authorities, businesspeople, and representatives of supporting entities who emphasized the importance of the sector for the development of the state and the strengthening of the region’s economy.
The Vice President of the Federation of Industries of Espírito Santo (Findes), Eduardo Dalla, underlined the relevance of the sector to the state’s economy. “The stone sector accounts for over 82% of Brazil’s exports in this segment. The Cachoeiro Stone Fair is essential for presenting trends and further strengthening the industry,” he concluded.
Vitor da Silva Coelho, Mayor of Cachoeiro de Itapemirim, highlighted the economic impact of the stone sector in the region. “Cachoeiro has a remarkable strength in the stone sector. There are more than 600 companies, generating around 6,000 jobs and driving the local economy,” he stated.
Vice Governor Ricardo Ferraço also reinforced how the natural stone sector is one of the main pillars of the state’s economy. “The trajectory of the Cachoeiro Stone Fair reflects the success of our entrepreneurs, who have explored the mountains and transformed the natural stone sector into a national and global reference.”
Concluding the ceremony, the Governor of Espírito Santo, Renato Casagrande, highlighted the state investments that benefit the sector. “The natural stone sector has significantly contributed to strengthening our industry.
